Sample E-Mail Newsletters

Due to a printing error, the first printing of the paperback edition is missing the examples of e-mail newsletters from pages 88-92. Here is what you should have seen. (Note: Links are samples only, and do not lead to anything.)

Poor Newsletter Example:

To: mybiggestfan@something.com
From:
rockstar2929@something.com
Subject: Hey!

Yo, all you rockers!

We’re going to be jamming at Pistol Pete’s this Friday at 9pm. Tell all your friends that they won’t want to miss this show!

Love,
Richie and the Rock Stars

Good Newsletter Example:

To: joetaylor@spinme.com
From: audrey@spinme.com
Subject: [AlleyCats] New Pictures and Songs!

Dear Joe,

I hope you’re having a great week so far! We just put up some more pictures of our road trip to Las Vegas. Wait until you see the wacky outfit Kelly picked out!

While you’re surfing the web, here’s a list of band names that one of the writers at McSweeney’s thought up. I suppose we could have gone with one of these:

We just wrapped up recording the last of the new songs for our next EP! If you want a quick sample, check out what we posted to the band weblog:

Thanks for all your support so far this year! Without you, we can’t keep doing what we’re doing. Next week, I’ll share another new song and we’ll let you sneak a peek at some of the cover designs we’re thinking about.

Until next time,

Audrey Jones
Audrey and the Alley Cats

P.S.: Remember that we’ve got a special treat just for you if you share our songs with a few of your friends! Check out the details:
